How much does it cost for you to design a site for me?

This can vary anywhere from $199 and up to several thousand dollars. This all depends on what your site will entail: online store, Secure portion(s) needed, number of graphics, design of the site itself, etc. We can discuss this via phone, fax, e-mail and even in person. It is helpful to do some research on other sites to get ideas of what you want, then we can more easily come up with what would be suitable. The cost of designing a site is not included with hosting it on our computer, and registering the domain name (if you do not currently have one).

What does hosting mean, exactly?

Hosting means that we have your site on our server. The internet is just a whole bunch of computers that store web sites, e-mail, etc. Your site has to be on someone's server who is connected to the internet. That is what we do.

What kind of information does the web statistics program show?

The web statistics program we have is called WebLog Expert. It is a very detailed program which shows you everything you want to know about who is visiting your site, and even some things that surprised us! It won't tell you the person's name or their company, however, it will give you their IP address, how many times they have hit your site, how long they were there, what Operating System they have on their computer (Windows, Mac, etc), what web browser they are using (Internet Explorer, Netscape, etc), and even what Country they are accessing you from. It even tells you what Search Engine people have used to find your site (Google, Yahoo, etc) and even the words they typed in which brought your site up on the list.

This feature does not cost anything extra. It is also put on your site securely with a user name and password so that not just anyone can look at this data.

Can you setup an online store for me? If so, what are the details?

Yes, we are able to setup an online store for you. We have found a particular web site/store template software that works very well, and can be edited in any manner you wish to be customized just for your business. The templates we have to choose from are by E-Commerce Templates. You can choose the template you like the best for your needs. Some have the ability to only receive payments via PayPal, while others are much more involved that the customer can enter their credit card number in a secure portion of the store, and then you can only retrieve it through a secure portion of the web site in which you have to have a user name and password to gain access. The cost of these templates is in addition to domain registering, web hosting, setup, design, etc. There is still quite a bit of designing to do even after purchasing the template you want, which is why the templates themselves aren't very expensive. We bill you for the template at cost.

You offer Web Mail. What is it? Is that all I can use to get my e-mail?

Web Mail is where you actually login to your e-mail account via your web site. This is very convenient if you are on the road, or even at home, and still have to check your e-mail to remain in contact with customers, employees, etc.

Most of our customers use a regular e-mail program as well (such as Pegasus Mail, Microsoft Outlook, etc). Let's say you check your e-mail from out on the road, and there are some messages you want to administer in your other e-mail program. Simply leave those messages in your Inbox, then check your e-mail as you usually would and any messages that are in there on the Web Mail will come through there.

We already have a web site, domain name and e-mail. Can you take this over?

Yes, we can take all of these over for you. We would need the login information for the domain name so we can make the DNS changes. DNS stands for Domain Name System, which basically tells every computer on the internet where your web site and e-mail are located. We would also need the list of every e-mail address you already have and any additional ones you may want added.

All I want is e-mail. Do I have to get a web site?

No, you don't have to have a web site in addition to e-mail. However, a one page site, even just for minimal advertising, so people at least see something if they attempt to go to your domain, wouldn't cost you much extra to have us do. It would be even as simple as putting your logo and contact info there, and maybe a link to a main e-mail address. Then even down the road we could expand on that to really develop a full fledged information site for your current and future customers.

Is it ok if I design my own site, or even have someone else do it?

Yes, this can definitely be done. We would just have to give you the FTP (File Transfer Protocol) information so you can 'login' to your site and upload it.

Can I set up my own vacation message/auto responder? If so, how?

Yes, you can actually set this up yourself.

1) Login to your e-mail account via your web site. (If you need help with this, please call or e-mail us).

2) Click on Settings and in that list click on Auto Responder.

3) Type your message in the text area.

4) Change Status from No Responder to either:

a) Respond Always - which will send your message to a person who is e-mailing you any time they send you an e-mail. It is recommended you use this one if you are away for an extended period.

b) Respond Once - which will only send your message to people who e-mail you during this time only once. This is recommended if you are away only for a few days.

c) Respond After A Period - which will send your message to people who e-mail you after whatever number of days you specify in the next field (which says 0 as a default).

5) Set the dates you will be gone, using Year/Month/Day-Year/Month/Day,
example: 2004/12/25-2005/01/03

The option "Reply Only If To Me" is optional, and means that if someone specifically sends the e-mail to your address they will receive your message. However, if they include you as part of a CC (carbon copy) or BCC (blind carbon copy) they will not receive your away message. This would be useful if you are on a very frequent
mailing list, and if your response is set to Respond Always.
